AboutAt a glance

The City of El Dorado Sanitation Department is the only authorized collector in El Dorado. We have a full staff of experienced individuals who take pride in their work and understand how important this function is to the citizens.

  • Residential: Residents within City limits enjoy curbside trash service via individual trash carts and clear City of El Dorado recycling bags collected weekly.  For new service information and additional trash services offered by the city, see the links at left.

AboutHoliday Schedules

  • Memorial Day - May 31, 2010 Residential customers who are normally collected on Monday will be picked up on Tuesday.  Customers normally collected on Tuesday will be picked up on Wednesday.  Thursday and Friday will run as normal.
  • Independence Day - July 5, 2010  Residential customers who are normally collected on Monday will be picked up on Tuesday.  Customers normally collected on Tuesday will be picked up on Wednesday.  Thursday and Friday will run as normal.
  • Labor Day - Monday, September 6, 2010 Residential customers who are normally collected on Monday will be picked up on Tuesday. Customers normally collected on Tuesday will be picked up on Wednesday.  Thursday and Friday run as normal.
  • Veterans Day - Thursday, November 11, 2010 Trash and Recycle routes will run as normal.
  • Thanksgiving - November 25, 2010 Residential customers who are normally collected on Thursday will be picked up on Wednesday.  All other days run as normal.
  • Christmas Eve - December 24, 2010 ~ New Years Eve - December 31, 2010 Christmas and New Years Day both fall on Saturday this year. The City will observe these holidays on Friday.  Customers who are normally collected on Friday will be collected on Thursday.  Customers who are normally collected on Thursdays will be collected on Wednesday.  
    • Special Waiver for Holiday trash only: In order to allow residents to dispose of extra trash generated during Christmas, the requirement of using special orange volume bags will be waived during the period of December 28th through December 31st.  
    • Please do not begin placing trash at your curb any earlier than the night before your scheduled day.  All trash must be curbside by 7AM on your scheduled pickup day.
    • Please be understanding that our crews will have EXTRA HEAVY loads during this time.  Some routes may be broken up to accommodate demand.
    • Use disposable containers for your extra household trash and Christmas wrapping/packaging.
    • Remember to recycle chipped cardboard, break it down and place in the clear recycling bags.
    • Corrugated cardboard can be broken down and put in the clear bags if small enough or break down large pieces and place on the curb under your recycling bags.
  • All other days of collection will remain unchanged.

AboutHazardous Waste

The City of El Dorado will not dispose of hazardous wastes.  Instead citizens should utilize the Butler County Residential Household Hazardous Waste Program

Located at the Butler County Landfill (SW 40th and Boyer Rd.)

Collected the 1st Saturday of each month.

 Acceptable Items Include: Paint, Paint Thinners, Paint Strippers, Household Cleaners, Motor Oils and Old Fuel, Lawn & Garden Chemicals, Aerosol Cans, Batteries, Rodent Poisons.
